225. This year’s Nobel Peace Prize could go to India via Narendra Modi

After hearing a boring buffoon in the Lok Sabha yesterday, it was quite refreshing to watch Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News. His guest was a retired U.S. Army Colonel named Douglas MacGregor.

MacGregor cautioned that ongoing conflict might drive oil prices up to $300 per barrel and lead to a 60 to 80 per cent decline in stock values. He also criticized US foreign policy, stating that Benjamin Netanyahu's ‘Greater Israel’ ambitions have shaped US policies during both the Trump and Biden administrations, which he considers a disaster.

MacGregor believes that only the U.S. and Israel are interested in war in the Middle East, claiming that Iran has tried to avoid conflict.

When Carlson asked the Colonel how the US could get out of the war, he said, “Somebody will say, why end it? Because if we don’t, people will lose trillions in wealth. It will be a disaster, and it’s not something we’ll recover from.”

And then came his comments that every true Indian wants to hear, except those idiots whose hatred of Modi has turned into hatred for India, and who can sell out the country if paid well. And believe me, they are in big numbers, most likely third-generation Congressmen, and many of those who enjoyed the benefits handed out by the Family

He said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi could be the best mediator and mentioned, “You can say well, he was just in Israel. That’s fine. He has good relations with Israel; that’s not a bad thing. He also has good relations with Iran…and reasonable relations with the Chinese.”

He suggested Washington should consider reaching out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi because India remains one of the very few countries that maintains friendly relations with all sides involved, giving it unique diplomatic leverage.

Colonel Douglas MacGregor continued: “Modi is historically leading a neutral state that is growing in stature, in power, in influence; we should recognize it and welcome it and not treat it as a problem. And I think President Trump should speak to him and say we need to end this.”

UAE's former envoy to India, Hussain Hassan Mirza, has also suggested that PM Modi was the best person to help end the war.

This is a clear slap to those pinkish and not-so-pinkish cheeks who say Modi is compromised.

The Colonel has said everything, and I have nothing to add except to feel proud of possessing an Indian Passport.

I am also convinced that the Nobel Committee will bestow this year's Peace Prize on Narendra Modi, because that's the only one left.
