22. Where the world is heading to?
We see a major escalation of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
According to the UN-backed experts an entirely man-made famine is taking place in Gaza’s largest city and its surrounding area amid deteriorating conditions that threaten an exponential increase in deaths across the devastated territory.
World Health Organization also released figures confirming deaths from malnutrition and starvation in Gaza have risen sharply. But Isreal says more than 220 aid trucks on Thursday, August 22, 2025 entered Gaza through the Kerem Shalom and Zikim crossings. That’s just in one day!! Can we believe?
Israel always disputes the hunger fatality figures given by the WHO and health ministry of Gaza’s Hamas-run government. Even the declaration of famine in Gaza has no effect on Israel.
Israel rejected it, claiming there was no famine in Gaza and that the findings were based on “Hamas lies laundered through organisations with vested interests”.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, an organisation that classifies the severity of food insecurity and malnutrition said that this famine is entirely man-made, it can be halted and reversed.
The report says, “The time for debate and hesitation has passed, starvation is present and is rapidly spreading. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that an immediate, at-scale response is needed. Any further delay – even by days – will result in a totally unacceptable escalation of famine-related mortality.”
As if it wasn’t sufficient, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has said Israeli forces will launch a massive new assault on Gaza City within weeks.
No doubt, any further offensives in Gaza would have catastrophic consequences for the population.
It seems no nation is interested to stop this tragedy.
Even the UN and other organisations are facing logistical obstacles due to damaged infrastructure within Gaza and ongoing Israeli combat operations and its administrative restrictions.
I am sad watching this world going to hell - if there is one, even that would be better.
