Last night, I wanted to listen to Nasir Kazmi’s “Dil me ek lahar si uthti hai abhi,” which was popularized by Ghulam Ali. 

But I wanted to hear it from a different voice. 

These days, you can easily find it on YouTube. 

So, while channel surfing, I saw a new face and heard her voice for the first time. I think she is very talented.

She has the essential qualities a Ghazal singer should possess - a Ghazal-style tone and a strong, commanding voice. An authentic booming voice that needs no music. She has both. 

I also ended up listening to some film songs, which she has sung very beautifully. 

Besides having complete control over her voice, she also possesses a hypnotic face and an aura of mystery, with smiling eyes that draw you in and make you want to keep looking at her. 

The young and highly talented singer is Sana Nemat. The only information I have about her is that she lives in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

Nasir Raza Kazmi, born in Ambala, India, had emigrated to Pakistan. He has published six collections of his poetry and three prose books. His memoirs Nasir Kazmi ki dairy: chand pareshan kaghaz and San sattāvan merī nazạr men̲ are also very readable and informative.

कोई ताज़ा हवा चली है अभी

कुछ तो नाज़ुक मिज़ाज हैं हम भी

और ये चोट भी नई है अभी

शोर बरपा है ख़ाना-ए-दिल में

कोई दीवार सी गिरी है अभी

भरी दुनिया में जी नहीं लगता

जाने किस चीज़ की कमी है अभी

शहर की बे-चराग़ गलियों में

ज़िंदगी तुझको ढूँडती है अभी

वक़्त अच्छा भी आएगा 'नासिर'

ग़म न कर ज़िंदगी पड़ी है अभी

Dil me ek lahar si uthti hai abhi

Koi taaza hawa chali hai abhi

Kuchh to nazuk mizaj hain ham bhi

Aur yeh chot bhi nayee hai abhi

Shor barpa hai khan-e-dil mein

koyee deewar si giri hai abhi

Bhari duniya mein ji nahin lagta

jaane kis cheez ki kami hai abhi

shahr ki be-charagah galiyon men

zindagi tujh ko Dhundhti hai abhi

Waqt achchha bhi ayega Nasir

ġham na kar zindagi padi hai abhi

(A wave has just risen in my heart,

A fresh breeze has just blown.

We're a little delicate too,

And this injury is still fresh.

There's a commotion in my heart,

It feels as if a wall has collapsed.

I can't survive in this crowded world,

I wonder what's missing right now.

On the city's dark streets,

Life continues to search for you.

Good times will come, Nasir,

Don't worry, there are still good things ahead in life.)
